Role-play and Forum Theatre

A CASE STUDY
We are working with a large multi-national Bank on their leadership development programmes. Entitled 'The Leadership Edge'  the programme provides participants with practical experience in building constructive relationships with team members.

Having been briefed by the client on some typical interactions that take place in the Bank, we scripted three scenarios that highlighted some of their key issues. On the day the participants observe the scenarios and are then give the chance to hot-seat the characters (ask questions to understand the characters motivations). Participants then forum the scenario, guiding one or other of the characters on how to deal with their dilemma and bring about a 'best practice' conclusion.

Following this we break into small groups and the actor/facilitators take each participant through a bespoke role-play session allowing them to practice a scenario that is personal to them. Having done so, constructive feedback is provided by the actor and fellow participants. A shared, learning experience. Three actor/facilitators work alongside senior consultants to deliver the programme.
